Genesis

Hi all,

So with this first post I just wanted to say a bit about myself and what I hope I can accomplish with this blog. My name is Ray, I'm currently a junior at the University of Richmond in Virginia, and I'm studying Business Administration with a Finance concentration. Beyond the boring information, I'm a music lover and have been playing guitar for 10 years now, drums for 5, and singing all my life. I'm a huge sports fan with my favorite sport to play being basketball...Go UConn!! As for professional teams, I am a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers, the L.A. Lakers, and the Baltimore Orioles. Living in CT, none of those really make sense, but I've liked them my whole life so no way I'm going to change now.

I have no intention of this first post sparking much conversation, but hopefully future ones will do just that. So to that end, I want to get to the purpose of this blog. Originally I simply wanted a place online to collect my thoughts, but after thinking about it I've decided that collecting thoughts is useful in accomplishing goals, but even more important is generating exciting and intelligent conversation so all involved may be able to learn from one another. "Life's Waiting Room" will cover many topics, whatever I happen to be involved in at the time: the way people think about life, relationships between people and the brain work behind them, current business topics (especially involving the continuing use of technology in business settings), general thoughts or discoveries that I think people will find interesting, etc...

So, although that was an extremely broad introduction to this blog, I'm hoping that "Life's Waiting Room" can be a discussion area for a broad range of topics involving the only thing we can do with our time on this planet: Live. I'll post something more useful later, I just wanted to get this off the ground and give a little start-up post. Hopefully you'll enjoy some of the things that I have to say, and I look forward to hearing what you have to say as well.

Until next time,
You stay classy, Internet,
Ray
